Ham and cheese pinwheels
Puff pastry rolled up with ham, cheddar and a thin spread of mustardy tomato, sliced into spirals and baked until golden. A party plate favourite with kids.
Ingredients
- 320 g Puff pastry, ready-rolled sheet
- 30 g Tomato purée
- 5 g Dijon mustard
- 100 g Sliced ham
- 100 g Cheddar, grated
- 1 Eggs, beaten
Method
- Heat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan). Unroll the pastry and spread thinly with the tomato purée mixed with the mustard. Lay over the ham and scatter with cheese.
- Roll up tightly from a long edge, then chill for 10 minutes so it slices neatly. Cut into 1.5cm rounds.
- Lay flat on lined trays, brush with egg and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and crisp.
