Cheeseburger pasta
All the flavours of a cheeseburger in a one-pan pasta: beef, onions, a tangy tomato and mustard sauce and a melting blanket of cheddar.
Ingredients
- 500 g Beef mince
- 1 Onions, finely chopped
- 0.1 Garlic, 1 clove, crushed
- 30 g Tomato purée
- 30 g Ketchup
- 5 g English mustard
- 300 g Passata
- 1 Beef stock cubes, made up with 700ml hot water
- 300 g Macaroni
- 150 g Cheddar, grated
- 1 Little gem lettuce, shredded, to serve
- 2 Tomatoes, diced
Method
- Brown the mince with the onion in a large deep pan until no pink remains. Stir in the garlic.
- Stir in the tomato purée, ketchup and mustard, then add the passata and stock.
- Bring to the boil, tip in the macaroni and simmer, stirring often, until tender and the sauce is thick.
- Take off the heat and stir in most of the cheese, then scatter the rest on top and cover for 2 minutes to melt.
- Spoon into bowls and top with shredded lettuce and diced tomato, burger-style.
