Gammon, egg and chips
Pan-fried gammon steaks with runny-yolked fried eggs, oven chips and peas. Pub food at home in 25 minutes.
Ingredients
- 4 Gammon steaks
- 4 Eggs
- 800 g Oven chips
- 300 g Frozen peas
- 20 ml Vegetable oil
- 10 g Butter
- 1 g Black pepper
Method
- Heat the oven to 220°C (200°C fan) and spread the chips on a tray. Bake for 25 minutes, turning halfway.
- Snip the fat on the gammon edges to stop them curling. Fry the steaks in a little oil for 4 minutes each side until golden and cooked through.
- Cook the peas in boiling water for 3 minutes, drain and toss in the butter.
- Fry the eggs in the remaining oil until the whites are set. Top each steak with an egg and serve with chips and peas.
